The Perfect Football Boots for Synthetic Sports Turf

Monday, June 7th, 2010

There are so many things to think about when it comes to football boots for synthetic sports turf – moulded studs, screw in studs and leather uppers – so we thought we’d provide a little guide for anyone who loves to have a kick-about every now and again.  We’ve specialised in synthetic sports turf for so many purposes; including team sports such as rugby, tennis and hockey, and in the education sector for playgrounds and nurseries, and also for landscaping and leisure. But football remains as one of the most popular reasons for using synthetic sports turf. And with the many clubs and organisations we’ve worked with, we’ve discovered a passion for football and all things surrounding it – boots included!  Here is a little guide to choosing the right pair of football boots if your team plays on Tiger Turf’s wonderfully non-abrasive synthetic sports turf…

  1. Studs – choose a football shoe with multiple rubber pimples or full length studs which can also be used on artificial football pitches.
  2. Uppers – leather uppers can be more comfortable as the material can mould itself to the shape of your feet. However, synthetic materials are often lighter.

We hope our super-quick guide gives you an idea of what you need to think about when shopping for your next pair of boots. We may not be able to kick like Crouch, Defoe or Heskey, but we’re spot on when it comes to synthetic sports turf. Here at Tiger Turf, we are the very first manufacturer in the country to become a licensee of the FIFA Quality Concept, so we’re pretty proud of our connections in the world of footy.   Fancy a kick-about? First World Cup Played on 3G Artificial Turf!

Monday, June 7th, 2010

The 2010 FIFA World Cup is going to be a World Cup like no other. Not only is this the first time in history that South Africa will be hosting such a large sporting event, but it’s the first time that 3G artificial turf is going to get a feel of prestigious World Cup football studs on its synthetic grassy plane.  The 64 exciting matches of the 2010 World Cup will take place in ten famous stadiums in South Africa; Capetown, Port Elizabeth, Pretoria, Bloemfontein, Rustenburg, Nelspruit, Polkwane, Durban and Johannesburg, and Soweto. And for the first time ever, 3G artificial turf will be used by the world’s finest footballers for the biggest FIFA competition of the year.  Professional sports have been played on 3G artificial turf around the world for many years, but this is the first time that it’s being used for the World Cup games. As a FIFA approved synthetic turf manufacturer, we’re so pleased that attitudes are changing.  “I think it’s now time in this region to think about artificial turf.”Sepp Blatter, FIFA president.  Our 3G artificial turf is safe, non-abrasive and of very high quality. We were the first UK manufacturer to become a licensee of the FIFA Quality Concept and always strive to deliver the most dynamic and innovative range of artificial grass surfaces.  In the final days running up to the official start of the World Cup, we’re getting excited!
